Last year's sci-fi comedy shooter 'Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel' is being prepared for a PlayStation 4 and Xbox One re-release as part of 'Borderlands: The Handsome Collection.'
With its adjective referring to nutjob antagonist Handsome Jack, 'The Handsome Collection' contains both 'Borderlands 2' and 'Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel.'
Promising a complete remaster of the original games, plus all Season Pass and other post-release content for 'Borderlands 2' and 'Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel,' 'Borderlands: The Handsome Collection' also boasts four-player splitscreen instead of the previously proposed two-way split.
The increase in same-screen headcount means that players can do away with online access altogether, if they can get their posse of loot-hunting friends in the same room instead.
Players of the PlayStation 4 version will be able to import any pre-existing game saves from the PlayStation 3 or handheld Vita, and likewise for transfers between Xbox One and Xbox 360.
And for those who like to spend over and above the compilation's $59.99 retail price, there's a typically, self-consciously overblown special edition going for $399, a 5,000-copy-run Claptrap-in-a-Box Edition that includes a remote-controlled monowheeled robot.
'Borderlands: The Handsome Collection' is to release March 24, 2015 in North American regions and March 27 internationally.
