Break into Mumbai jail, punish Kasab
Game lets players protest against terrorism by taking on 26/11 convict.
The US trial of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) operative David Coleman Headley is causing much furor internationally.
And closer home, city gaming company Games2win.com has launched a video game, allowing people to punish India's most famous inmate and 26/11 perpetrator, Ajmal Kasab. Called Kill Kasab, the game, that was launched earlier this week, lets players enter Mumbai's Arthur Road Jail and punish the convicted terrorist. The game has already become the most played game on Games2win.com, almost immediately after its release.
The idea for this game arose after the death of Al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden. At that time, there were a lot of tweets like, 'Nobody is safe in Pakistan, not even Laden. Everybody is safe in Hindustan, even Kasab!' "We realised that there is a lot of anger in India because Kasab has not yet got his due. 'Gamification' of news is something new that we are pioneering," says Raj Menon, director, Games2win.com, adding, "We now watch news live on TV, follow it on Twitter and discuss it on Facebook. So why not play a game on it?"
The game is divided into three parts. First, you are a patriotic Indian who gets into Mumbai's Arthur Road jail and helps Kasab escape. In part two, you shoot him down while he's escaping. Finally, you hunt down the remaining perpetrators of 26/11 and kill them too. "This game is pure fantasy. There are no real characters except Kasab," says Menon.
Kill Kasab can be played on www.games2win.com.
