Insurance jargon puts you off? A recently launched website could help simplify this for you. Called PocketSafe.com, the website is the brainchild of Kashyap Juthani and offers people various insurance options. One can also ask queries to experts and help choose the best-suited policy depending on their needs. One can also set reminders for insurance premium payment.

Juthani says, "In college, I decided that I wanted to do something which could offer safety to students in terms of health and medical benefits. I came across various online insurance portals but they provide minimal information and start calling and spamming customers."

Frustrated, Juthani decided to change all that and that's how PocketSafe came up eight months ago.

PocketSafe has tied up with all the 14 insurance companies available online. They don't have any online payment option yet, so people who are interested in buying insurance are contacted offline.

Juthani says, "Currently, we have only three products — health insurance, travel insurance and student insurance. We are working on four more products, which will be available in two months." An online payment gateway will also be installed in few months.

The site is user-friendly. One doesn't need to register to access information on the website. They also have an online expert section where people can ask doubts. Experts also solve problems via email.

New features
Juthani says, "We have also started a Did You Know section where we regularly put up new products. Plus, we have sections that help people in terms of claims, by listing all the available TPAs (third party administrative) along with their phone numbers and e-mail IDs."

Though the site is still in its early days, they have already started getting substantial traffic and want to start forums and blogs where people can interact. There are also plans to provide online medical consultation.

They are also looking at providing online financial consultation to people, which will be a paid service.
