Clubhouse, one of the popular audio-based social apps that is limited to iOS users only for now, is inching closer to official Android launch. Although the co-founder has confirmed that an Android app is already under works, he hasn't said much about the development. But one of the members from the developer teams has posted a couple of images on Twitter, confirming that the work on the Android app is almost done and is probably under final testing rounds right now.

Posted by Clubhouse Android app developer Mopewa Ogundipe, the images show the same user interface that we see on opening a profile on Clubhouse. However, from the notification panel seen at the top of the screen, it is clear that the app is probably running on an Android phone. In addition, Ogundipe, in the first image writes “sent from my iPhone” while in the second one she writes “sent from my Pixel” in her profile's bio, indicating once again that the final testing is being done on Android.

That said, there is still no final date on what the Android app of Clubhouse will launch. However, the firm would need to work a lot on their server capacities before opening it up to millions of users around the world.

Clubhouse is long expected to enter the Android world and while it is working on it, some fake apps have already shown up on Google Play Store. Recently, a fake Clubhouse app for Android was discovered on the Google Play Store with the infamous BlackRock malware. This malicious app can get access to login credentials from more than 450 apps, and also bypass SMS-based two-factor authentication, according to a report by Irlenad-based ESET researcher Lukas Stefanko.
