Microsoft has reportedly extended deadline for installing the Windows 8.1 update by a month.

According to CNET, instead of requiring Windows 8.1 users to install the update by May 13, which is this month's 'Patch Tuesday', Microsoft is now allowing them a grace period until June 10.

However, deadline for business users is August 12, which means that they can move to Update for Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 until August 12.

The deadline is extended after outcry from some that Microsoft wasn't giving them enough time to apply the update, the report added.

Meanwhile, users with automatic updates do not need to do anything, as their systems will be updated automatically.
