Dons move to Thailand
Popular social game expands, adds new city to storyline for players to continue illegal activities.
Wikileaks may claim that Indian politicians, actors and cricketers are stashing their black money in Swiss accounts. But when it comes to Mumbai's dons, Bangkok seems the preferred destination.
That's if Bangkok Underworld is to be believed.
Taking their popular social game Mumbai Underworld a level up, ibibo launched a new city in their game exclusively for players who have completed 15 levels in the Mumbai version.
"When a player reaches level 15 in Mumbai Underworld, he/she is entitled to start illegal operations in Bangkok Underworld. To facilitate this, a player is given 20000 Thai Baht (Thai currency, around ₹1,000) to start," explains Rahul Razdan, president, products & operations, ibibo web.
Incidentally, the player retains access to both the underworlds and can switch from one to the other with a single click.
As the players go about building their illegal empires, they get to own illegal shops and properties like Tha Yang smoke shop, Michelle Massage parlour, Phuket smuggling port, and the Patpong Dance Bars — all notoriously popular with tourists in Thailand.
And just like the Mumbai version had some prime properties on offer, exclusive buildings introduced in Bangkok Underworld include Thai Wah Luxury Tower, Sathorn Tower, Baeyoke Tower and Centera Grand.
In the 48 hours since the launch of Bangkok Underworld, more than 50,000 players have started building their illegal empire in Bangkok.
