Dr Disrespect returns to streaming after Twitch ban
Dr Disrespect is making an official comeback to streaming, this time on YouTube.
Popular streamer Dr Disrespect was banned from Twitch in June. Reasons behind his ban are still unknown but after a month of hiatus, Dr Disrespect has returned to streaming and his comeback will be on YouTube.
Dr Disrespect is currently hosting a livestream on his YouTube channel. The livestream is titled “Dr Disrespect - The 2x Champion”. Guy Beahm himself hasn't appeared in the stream yet and there's just a red sports car at a Champions Club fuel station. Dr Disrespect is scheduled to host his first stream on YouTube at 12:30 pm IST. The streamer has already announced it on his social media pages.
Dr Disrespect does not have an exclusive deal with YouTube as yet. Other than YouTube, Dr Disrespect plans to stream on other platforms like Facebook and on his website as well, The Verge reported. This is akin to what Dr Disrespect said when discussing his future plans following the Twitch ban. It was however reported that no platform is talking to the streamer for an exclusive deal.
Dr Disrespect had signed a multi-year deal with Twitch earlier this March. This led to an even bigger shock when Twitch banned the streamer. Twitch hasn't revealed the reason behind the ban as per the company's policy. Dr Disrespect did hint at possibilities of a legal action against Twitch but the streamer too did not divulge in any details.
The ban also came just two days after Twitch announced it's taking action on sexual assault allegations. Twitch said it would ban streamers and revoke deals as part of this. Dr Disrespect however refuted this saying people are “engaging crazy speculation”.
