'DriveClub' trailer welcomes Mercedes AMG series

"DriveClub," a free motorsports game coming to PlayStation 4, is given a victory lap in the social racer's latest reel, this time featuring the gullwinged Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series and its high performance stablemates.

'DriveClub,' a free motorsports game coming to PlayStation 4, is given a victory lap in the social racer's latest reel, this time featuring the gullwinged Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series and its high performance stablemates.

Earlier in September, it was Audi's R8 that was showcased on Chile's Salar de Surire circuit, selected as an ideal location to introduce the game's dynamic day-night cycle. Now it's Mercedes' turn to dazzle in a trailer first revealed to attendees at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

In keeping with Evolution's heritage -- the studio created off-roading series 'MotorStorm' and forked it off into the infectious, leaderboard driven 'MotorStorm RC' in 2012 -- 'DriveClub' bridges the gap between simulation games like 'Forza Motorsport 5' (coming to Xbox One) and 'Gran Turismo' (bound for PlayStation 3) and the looser, arcade-style approaches of 'Blur,' 'Need for Speed: Rivals' and 'Burnout Paradise.'

It's also being offered as a freebie for PlayStation Plus subscribers, an existing scheme that on PlayStation 4 will also confer access to online multiplayer, while a fully featured version will be made available for purchase with all bells and whistles included.
