The Indian government has introduced several digital apps and platforms over the past few years to make the government services easily accessible. These mobile apps provide easy access to a host of government services. Check out these 5 government services apps that you must have on your mobile phone.
UMANG
Unified mobile Application for New-Age Governance (UMANG) is one the important government services app that allows users to avail services from the Center, states and municipalities. It is integrated with the popular customer-centric services platforms like Employees' Provident Fund Organization, National Pension System, myPAN—to apply for a PAN card—Digilocker, Pensioners' Portal and Digi Sevak.
CBEC GST
This app familiarizes taxpayers and ensures a smooth transition to the Goods and Services Tax (GST). The app is developed by the Central Board of Excise and Customs, Ministry of Finance. It provides taxpayers with a host of GST-related information— migration to GST, GST laws and rules, latest updates, FAQs, etc.
AAYKAR SETU
AAYKAR SETU app has been developed by the Income Tax Department (ITD) to resolve taxpayers' queries. Users can get their tax queries and concerns addressed via the live chat facility provided by Aaykar Setu. The app also gives access to a variety of other services of the income tax department such as filing income tax return, locate Tax Return Preparer, TDS calculator and much more.
M-KAVACH
This is a comprehensive security app for mobile devices that offers protection against hacking and malware attacks. M-Kavach also warns of threats related to misuse of resources such as WiFi, Bluetooth, camera and mobile data by preventing unauthorized access. The app also allows users to remotely delete data, such as contacts, on their phone, reset the device to factory settings as well as track location.
BHIM
Since Unified Payment Interface (UPI) has become the most convenient and easiest way for money transactions, the government has launched Bharat Interface for Money (BHIM) mobile app. It enables fast, secure and reliable transactions via mobile phone. Users can send or receive money using UPI payment addresses, phone numbers or QR Codes.
