From PUBG to TikTok here are 177 apps banned by Indian govt so far

This is not the first time that the Indian government has banned China-based apps in the country. The government banned a total of 59 apps back in June this year. So, here's the complete list of banned apps…

The Indian government on Wednesday banned a total of 118 China-based apps in India. The list includes a bunch of popular apps such as PUBG Mobile, AppLock and WeChat Work among others. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology in a press release said that it was banning the 118 apps keeping in view the emergent nature of threats.

“In the interest of sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India and security of the State. And using the sovereign powers, the Government of India has decided to block the usage of certain Apps, used in both mobile and non-mobile Internet-enabled devices, MeitY wrote in a press release.

Notably, this is not the first time that the Indian government has banned China-based apps in the country. The government banned a total of 59 apps back in June this year.
