Apple's dream of a futuristic television is more apps and keeping to it, the Cupertino-headquartered giant on Monday unveiled new features of its tvOS at the Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco.

Starting from more apps to a better Siri which enables better searches, Apple said that it has added 6,000 apps in seven months. It had started off with 80 video channels and now the number has reached to 1300.

Also, it has extended Apple TV's Siri Remote to the iPhone via a new app which allows users to play games using the phone's accelarometer and gyroscope. Users can also enter text using the phone keyboard. Interestingly, a new update makes sure that if an user downloads an app on his iPhone that is supported on Apple TV, it automatically synchronises with it and is available for use from Apple TV.

Siri and search has also been upgraded in the new OS to offer seamless searches not only on the device but also ib YouTube. Currently, Apple has 650,000 movies on the Apple TV ecosystem.

Users can also use Apple's new "Live Tune-In" feature that uses Siri to allow users to simply say aloud what channel they want to watch; for example, Cue quickly popped into a soccer game on ESPN 2. That voice search feature also includes searching YouTube as well, so you can watch Steph Curry sink threes all day. Apple TV will also now allow "single sign-on" to cable networks, but the company did not explain exactly how that feature would work. It also has a special dark mode now as well.

The company has also opened the OS for developers to try and integrate more apps in the ecosystem.
