There's always a prime takeaway in every high-end smartphone — either the battery is a beast, the phone can connect to gaming consoles, or it boasts of a sturdy body. LG's flagship model of the year, G4, has almost everything going for it — premium build, impressive 32GB internal space (expandable up to 2TB) and a 3GB RAM. Yet, it's the camera that steals the show.

What's good: For all the features it packs in, LG G4 is feather-light. The display is crystal clear, with prompt updates on weather conditions. For instance, it flashes messages like 'It will be rainy today. Very hot and humid. Stay hydrated' or 'Full of sunshine tomorrow'. This adds a near-human quality to the gadget. The leather back cover is a first of its kind, and is eye-catching. The main control buttons are on the back, and we have gradually warmed up to this placement. But what towers above all of these elements is the 16MP primary camera which is on a par with entry level DSL The phone shoots true colours in RAW and complete manual settings. The 8MP front camera takes good photos even in low light. The phone also has an option called Smart Bulletin, which allows you to customise settings such as when you want your Wi-Fi on, when you want to mute calls, etc.

What's not: We hardly had any complaints from LG G4, except the fact that in spite of a 3,000mAh battery, the charge drained out easily.

Verdict: With an impressive camera, call quality and body, this is one of the best smartphones launched this year.
