High-tech product releases announced the week ending July 4 include the Google Nexus 7 tablet and Nexus Q social streaming device, the JVC Adixxion Camcorder, a luxury USB stick, and the Droid Incredible 4G LTE by HTC.

A high-powered low-cost tablet from Google

The Google Nexus 7 tablet is the first 7" tablet to sport a quad-core Tegra-3 chipset and also the first to feature Google's newly announced Jelly Bean Android 4.1 operating system. At just 340 grams, the Asus-manufactured device is lighter than most 7" tablets. It comes with a 1280x800 HD display, a 1.2MP front-facing camera (too bad for tablet photographers, there's no rear camera), NFC and up to 8 hours of battery life. The Nexus 7 is available for preorder in the Google Play store in the US, UK, Australia and Canada. The 8GB version is priced from $199, the 16GB version will start at $249. It's expected to start shipping in mid-July.

The first ever 'social streaming device'

Google's Nexus Q is a tiny sphere that wants to control your living room. It connects to your home theater system and lets you -- or your friends -- control your TV and speakers with a swipe of the finger across an Android-powered mobile device. The Q opens the flood doors to movies, apps, music and online content available through the Google Play store. The $299 Nexus Q is available for preorder in the US now and will start shipping in mid-July.

A WiFi action camera built to travel without the bulk

JVC's GC-XA1 Adixxion Camcorder is a pocket-sized device that is built for action. Unlike many other sports-minded camcorders, it's waterproof to a depth of five meters, shockproof to withstand a fall from two meters, dustproof and freeze-proof -- all without the need for a separate housing. The Adixxion includes built-in WiFi, 1.5-inch LCD monitor, image stabilizer and offers full HD 1920×1080/30p and 1280×720/60p recording. It weighs just 126 grams and will pair up with your smartphone using its built-in WiFi connection so you can monitor the action from afar. The GC-XA1 Adixxion will be available in the summer for $349.95.

The m|Storage is available in 8GB and 16GB storage capacities. Pricing is available on request.

A smartphone that simultaneously captures HD video and photos
The Droid Incredible 4G LTE by HTC sports the latest version of HTC's Sense 4 skin over the top of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, an 8MP camera, a 4" super LCD qHD display, a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, simultaneous HD video shooting and picture taking at the same time with HTC Video Pic, and 4G LTE data speeds of up to 12Mbps. The handset also packs in Beats Audio, Read Later, Android Beam for wirelessly sharing media between friends with a 'tap' and support for up to 32GB microSD memory card. The Droid Incredible 4G LTE will arrive in the US on July 5 priced from $149.99 (after a $50 mail-in rebate) on a two-year contract.
