Google News has turned 20! On this occasion, Google has gifted the users with a new revamped Google News look that brings more customisable options to your feed. From top stories and local stories to the personalised picks, the new Google News look will make the news consumption better and more personalised on your desktop. Users will be able to catch up with the most important news this way. Google News feeds is available in over 125 countries and in 40 languages across the globe.

Google mentioned in a blog post while announcing the new look for Google News, “Today we're announcing a number of ways we're working to help people around the world find a broad array of authoritative news, through global support to news organizations and product innovation.” Google's algorithms use machine learning to analyze hundreds of different factors to identify and organize the stories being covered around the world.

How Google News feed will be more personalised

Google says that to help people dive deeper into important stories and more easily find local news from around the world, Google has launched a redesigned, more customizable Google News experience for desktop users. It is based on the feedback from the readers.

The redesigned Google News will now bring Top stories, Local news, and personalized picks for you to the top of the page on your Desktop. Google has moved the local news section to the top of the page to make it easier to locate. This also added a filter button to add multiple locations to your local news section, so that you never miss the important news and updates about the cities and towns you care about.

OOne of the noticeable and biggest changes is in the several categories of news including business, science, health, world, and politics which was earlier used to be on the left-hand side, but now moved to a menu bar at the top.

And to make it more customised, Google News has the ability to customize the topics that appear to let you scroll and read through the stories that most interest you. This even gives you an option to add, remove or reorder topics just by tapping the blue customize button in the top right corner. This will make the Google News desktop homepage more organised and personalised.
