Google has announced that it'll be hosting a live contest dubbed as the "Startup India Standup India" to promote start-ups in India. The event will be hosted in New Delhi on January 16, and will be addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with other prominent leaders. Google will be awarding $100,000 worth of Cloud Credit to the start up that qualifies for its Launchpad Program, which allows them to use services such as software, storage and other cloud-related services.

"We are delighted to carry forward the vision and align with 'Start Up India Stand Up India' efforts, with a special session focusing on early stage start-ups by providing them a platform to present their ideas to the world under our Launchpad Program," Google South East Asia & India VP and MD Rajan Anandan said in a statement.
