Google is paying tribute to German architect Mies van der Rohe on his 126th birth anniversary. Rohe is regarded as the master of Modern architecture.
Born on March 27, 1886 in Germany, his first initiation to design came through working in his father's stone-carving shop and an apprenticeship at the studio of Peter Behrens. Mies is credited with bringing into the vogue the focus on steel and glass, a design which became trademark of modern architecture.
In keeping with Mies' desg's Google's doodle showcases a modern glass architecture building a true symbol of Mies's philosophy ' God is in the details'.
Google's last doodle was an ode to Cubist painter Juan Gris.
