Users of Google's 'daily deal' site Google Offers now have an alternative to compulsive email checking with the November 2 release of the Google Offers app for Android.
Google Offers is a 'daily deal' site launched in January which works on a similar basis to Groupon and other such business models -- consumers sign up and then are offered the chance to purchase a 'daily deal' on a variety of goods or services; currently it is only available to those that reside in the US.
On November 2 Google launched a free Android app for users of Google Offers. Users of the app can discover, buy and redeem daily deals without the need to print them.
In August rival internet giant Facebook decided to shut down its own daily deal site Facebook Deals despite what appeared to be initial successes.
