Google’s latest Android N to have Daydream, in-built VR mode

A special mode has been built into Android N called VR Mode. Google has also created reference designs for headsets and controllers to standardise them.

Google didn't launch a new VR headset or controllers, but did lead the way for the industry by providing reference designs that Samsung, HTC, LG, Xiaomi, Huawei and Asus will use to launch phones that work can deliver the experience.

With the goal to make virtual reality mobile, approachable and 'fore everyone', Google has integrated it into Android N. The feature called Daydream won't be available till autumn, but will allow you to use an Android smartphone docked into an headset and an installed app to experience VR. Google has made specs for a daydream ready smartphone.

Google Play Movies, Photos, YouTube, HBO, Netflix, New York Times and Imax apps will offer VR experiences.
