2020 has been a tough year for all of us. The Covid-19 pandemic kept us locked indoors for most of the year. Naturally, we spent more time on OTT apps such as Netflix and Prime Video for new shows, movies, and more. As the year comes to an end, Disney+ Hotstar has revealed how subscribers watched content on its platform.

Before we hold forth with the trends, you should know Disney+ Hotstar came into existence in April this year. Earlier available as Hotstar, the Disney+ bundle brought a wide range of new content including Disney's original content. The Disney+ Hotstar VIP pack costs subscribers 399 a year.

According to Disney+ Hotstar, Drama, Action, and Romance were the most-watched genres in 2020. The most-watched movie on the platform was Sushant Singh Rajput-starrer Dil Bechara, which launched through new Multiplex premiers. Special Ops was the most-watched show on Disney+ Hotstar.

IPL continued to be the top offerings from Disney+ Hotstar. According to the platform, Mumbai Indians vs Chennai Super Kings on September 19 was the most-streamed Dream 11 IPL 2020 match. Disney+ Hotstar further said Indians watched 2,377 million hours of cricket on the platform.

Disney+ Hotstar is now gearing up for more and new content in 2021. The platform will host shows and movies such as Captain Marvel 2, Hawkeye, Tiger, Loki, WandaVision, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Bhuj, and The Big Bull next year.
