Highlights: Honor 20 series with new design, features and specs upgrade launched
Honor on Tuesday launched a new ‘Honor 20 series’ which features three smartphones, Honor 20, Honor 20 Pro, and Honor 20 Lite. Honor 20 and Honor 20 Pro are aimed at the premium and high-end mid-range segments whereas Honor 20 Lite is aimed at mid-range segment. Honor 20 is priced at EUR 499 (₹39,000 approximately) whereas Honor 20 Pro is priced at 599 (₹46,000 approximately). The cheaper Honor 10 Lite is priced at EUR 299 (₹23,000 approximately). Honor 20 Pro, which competes with OnePlus 7 Pro, comes with a quad-camera setup featuring 48-megapixel sensor, 16-megapixel wide-angle sensor, an 8-megapixel telephoto lens and a 2-megapixel macro lens. Honor 20 also has the same quad-camera setup but with a 2-megapixel depth sensor. Honor 20 Pro is powered by a 4,000mAh battery with 22.5W ‘Honor Super Charge’. Honor 20 has a smaller 3,700mAh battery. Honor 20 Lite comes with a full HD display with dewdrop notch on the front. Powered by Kirin 710 chipset, Honor 20 Lite comes with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It has a triple-camera setup of 24-megapixel, 8-megapixel and 2-megapixel sensors. The smartphone is powered by a 3,400mAh battery. Here are the highlights from the event.
Honor 20 Lite launched
Honor has also launched a stripped down version of Honor 20. The Lite version comes with Kirin 710 processor with 4GB RAM and 128GB ROM. The phone is priced at 299 Euros

Honor 20 series is powered by in-house Kirin 980 processor with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of ROM. It also comes with GPU Turbo 3.0 for better gaming experience. Honor 20 Pro is also Fortnite compatible. The phone comes with a 4,000mAh battery with 22.5W Honor SuperCharge technology
Honor 20 Pro's camera scored 111 on DXOMark camera test. It's the same score that OnePlus 7 Pro had achieved.

Honor in a live demo shows lowlight capabilities of Honor 20 Pro's camera. The phone is pitted against Samsung's Galaxy S10 and Apple's iPhone XS. Another update, Honor 20 Pro's 48MP camera is Sony's IMX586 sensor. Honor 20 Pro also gets Huawei P30 Pro's moon shot feature.
Honor 20 series is powered by in-house Kirin 980 processor. The chipset brings dual NPUs, dual channel and 4th generation ISP. Honor says Honor 20 Pro has f1/.4 aperture, bigger than the competition including Samsung Galaxy S10.
Honor 20 Series: Camera
Honor 20 Pro comes with quad-camera setup featuring 48-megapixel main sensor, 16-megapixel wide-angle sensor, 8-megapixel telephoto lens and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. It also has dual 4-axis optical image stablisation.
Honor 20 Pro Display
The Pro model comes with a 6.26-inch display with a punch-hole camera. It also comes with side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Zhao says side-mounted fingerprint sensor works better than in-screen fingerprint sensor. The dedicated sensor can also summon voice assistant on Honor 20 phones.
Honor 20 Pro's back panel comes with three layers - glass, colour, depth. Honor describes the new panel as 3D Triple Mesh design. Honor 20 Pro will be available in Phantom Blue and Phantom Black colour options. Honor 20 will be available in Midnight Black, Blue and Icelandic White colour options.

Evolution of Honor phones
Zhao highlights the evolution of Honor phones over last few years. Honor 8 featured dual camera while Honor 9 came with Hybrid zoom. Honor 10 was one of its phones with AI dual camera.
Honor says its Life campaign will be rolled out to more cities globally. It will also be available in Milano, Paris and Madrid/
George Zhao, President of Honor, says that the new brand in last five years has become a “tech brand loved by global youth.”
The event has officially begun. Honor will unveil at least two new phones at its global event.
Honor's “Capture Wonder” tagline suggests the latest series will come with big improvements in the camera department. Another 48-megapixel camera phone?
Honor is expected to launch a Pro version of its Honor 20 phone as well. The smartphone will be competing with the likes of OnePlus 7 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S10e among other premium phones.
