HT Codeathon ends after two months of intense coding
Of the 13,000 students, 400 top performers were selected to participate in the HT Codeathon finale, which took on December 19.
The Delhi government in partnership with the Hindustan Times had launched HT Codeathon back in October this year to fill in the gap in technology-related education among the school students. Now, the olympiad has concluded after nearly two months of intense coding.
To give you a quick brief about this olympiad, the HT Codeathon was inaugurated by Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on October 8, Thursday, in a bid to train students studying in classes 6 to 9 in various programming languages, which includes HTML, CSS and Python. While the students studying in classes 6 to 8 were trained in CSS and Java Script, students in classes 8 to 9 learned game development with Python.
Nearly 13,000 students from 10,000 schools participated in this two-month-long competition. They were evaluated on the basis of the tutorials, quizzes and the projects that they completed. Of the 13,000 students, 400 top performers were selected to participate in the HT Codeathon finale, which took on December 19.
In the end, 12 students were selected as the winners, who were divided into two categories -- North Zone and the South Zone, each of which had six winners. These zones were further divided into two categories, which include website development with HTML and game development with Python.
The students who topped in the North Zone in the website development with HTML category include Akshat Sharma from DAV Public School in Faridabad, Aashi Bansal and Aarush Bansal from Ryan International School in Greater Noida.
