Instagram is currently testing a new feature for its most used product on the photo sharing app. The Facebook-owned firm could soon let users share others' post on their Instagram Stories.

According to a report by TechCrunch, there is no guarantee that users would see a full rollout but "since people tend to screenshot others' content and add it to their Stories anyway, this seems like a useful tool that Instagram users would take advantage of."

Instagram Stories recently hit 300 million users in November 2017. Instagram Stories which began with just sharing moments from the day is slowly evolving to a platform for people to make a series of posts and so much more. As said above, Instagram users already take screenshots of posts and share them on Stories.

"We are always testing ways to make it easier to share any moment with friends on Instagram," the company was quoted as saying.

However, with every feature rolled out on Instagram, this one too will work only if the user allows it. If your Instagram account is public then others will be able to share your posts on their Stories. In addition to this, Instagram will also give users with public accounts to disable or enable this feature.

This new development comes after Instagram recently introduced text-only Stories in January and began allowing users to follow hashtags in December.

Instagram was also reportedly testing a native re-gram button but the feature has not been released yet.
