Intel sets a new world record for 100 dancing drones

Leading chipset manufacturer, Intel has now got its name listed in the Guinness Book of World Record, not for achievements made in micro-processing technology though. Instead, the company has set a new world record by making 100 drones dance simultaneously -- which was quite a spectacle to watch.

Dubbed as Drone 100, these drones were pre-programmed to perform in sync with one another and create a light show. A team of fifteen members made it possible with 100 drones equipped with LEDs illuminating the skies in dazzling colours. The performance lasted for about seven minutes before ended with a 250 meter wide Intel logo.

A committee from the Guinness Book of World Records sent a judge to witness this show which has now been listed as 'Most Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) airborne simultaneously'. Intel CEO Brian Krzanich showed-off a video recording of the sight during his keynote at CES 2016, where he said it can be a great alternative to fireworks as they can at times be fatal.

"The past can be replaced by new creativity powered by drones. This is what it means to reinvent experiences using new technology," said Krzanich.
