Apple's latest operating system iteration, iOS 11, hasn't really seen a smooth rollout. Since its debut on September 19, the company has already rolled out as many as three updates to fix a slew of bugs and glitches. A lot of users are still complaining about a variety of issues, including battery drain and slow performance. While Apple is still working to fix the reported bugs, a new issue in iOS 11 has grabbed wide attention.

If you try to enter numbers in rapid succession for a calculation within the native Calculator app, it will show you an incorrect result. For example, a simple addition of 1+2+3 will show 24 instead of 6. Spotted by a user on Reddit, the calculation shows incorrect answers when entering numbers in rapid succession. The same error happens when you enter any other number.

According to MacRumors, the bug had been prevalent throughout iOS 11 beta testing, but gained a wide attention just last week. "Any iOS developers will see what is wrong here: the bug is that the animation that lights up the button is blocking touch events until the animation completes. This is the default behavior for animations, but to make an app feel responsive it's best to find a way around that (it can be a one line fix, but sometimes it is complicated)," said a user on Reddit.

The website says the animation lag within the redesigned Calculator app causes some symbols to be missed, thus yielding a wrong result.

Fortunately, Apple has fixed the issue in its latest iOS 11.2 beta version which was released to developers on Monday. If you're also facing the same bug, you may want to download third-party calculator apps such as Calcbot.

It seems Apple will be rolling out major fixes in its next big software update, iOS 11.1. Anticipated to be rolled out very soon, the update is also expected to bring performance improvements and fixes for Wi-Fi and battery drain.

The last minor update released earlier this month aimed to fix non-responsive audio and haptic feedback on some iPhone 7.
