Joke is on molesters: Brazilian woman's toothy grin goes viral

A Brazilian woman is fighting tooth and nail to stop men from sexually harassing her. Debora Adorno has decided to ward off men by making a facial expression – called the “Toothy Face” – which has gone viral on the internet.

A Brazilian woman is fighting tooth and nail to stop men from sexually harassing her. Debora Adorno has decided to ward off men by making a facial expression - called the "Toothy Face" - which has gone viral on the internet.

Soon after Adorno posted a picture baring her teeth on Facebook, women across the world began imitating her, posting selfies with the hashtag #CaretaDoDentinho, roughly translated as 'tooth grimace'.

Adorno wrote a long post on her Facebook account about her experience with sexual harassment in Belo Horizonte, saying it had become difficult for her to walk down streets as men kept leering at her, according to a news.com.au report.

Stating her discomfort with men looking at her in a 'perverted' manner, Adorno said she was afraid they would threaten her, or even hit her.

'There was nothing I could do because there was no way to stop them,' she wrote on her Facebook page . 'I wasn't going to yell at all those men and I wasn't going to call them names out of fear of being assaulted, threatened, abused, a hundred different things… I simply couldn't.'

Apparently, the face worked. 'The harassment stopped in a heartbeat and no other guy disturbed me,' she says . 'At this point I felt rainbows inside, suddenly I wasn't the one feeling awkward anymore and I wasn't the one looking away anymore and I wasn't the fast-paced one anymore.'

She gives all the women out there a tip: 'try the power of the tooth!'
