Leaked images of Amazon’s next-gen Kindle surface online
Images of an e-reader called the Kindle Oasis have surfaced online, revealing a slightly different design with a large bezel on the side for better grip
Amazon's next generation of Kindle readers are expected to launch soon. Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos himself confirmed the news via a tweet. Though it appears we might have an unofficial sneak peek of the upcoming Kindle model before its unveiling.
As images of an e-reader called the Kindle Oasis have been posted on the Kindle subreddit page. Leaked images of the Kindle Oasis also surfaced on Amazon's China page (which have now been taken down). The images reveal a slightly different design, with a large bezel on the side to possibly offer better one-handed usage. In addition, there are built-in page turn buttons along with a premium looking leather cover.
The tablet will reportedly feature a 300ppi screen which is apparently as good as the Kindle Voyage when it comes to sharpness and text quality. Though the upcoming model will be smaller than the Kindle Voyage, and weighs only 131 grams as opposed to the Kindle Voyage's 180 grams.
Other details and specifications of the Kindle Oasis are still quite thin. There's no information regarding the device's price and availability, though it appears the launch is quite imminent. We will keep you updated as soon more details of the device are announced.
