Learn to dance with Google Glass
Those who think the eye wearable device Google Glass is dead, be ready to shake a leg with the device. According to media reports, Google Glass will come with a new technology that will teach you some funky dance moves in real time.
Google patented a technology last week that would allow head mounted wearables, such as Google Glass, help you: it will listen to the music and suggest matching dance style/steps.
In a way, it mixes and builds on technology available already to identify music — Shazam, Siri and SoundHound — and prompt dance moves — Dance Dance Revolution.
In plain English, Google Glass will listen to the music playing, and/or watch other dancers on the floor, search the internet and serve up matching dancing moves.
Google has not explained if the technology will be backed by a database of dance moves, who will put it together, where will it be stored, or whether it will randomly search the net for answers.
Google Glass, as reported before, is "graduating", moving from Google X labs, as the company said in January, "from concept to reality."
Google Glass started as a scuba mask attached to a laptop, and went through its development stages, publicly and proudly perched on co-founder Sergey Brin's nose. It's now getting ready to help people dance.
