The Samsung Galaxy S7 (at ₹48,900) and S7 Edge (at ₹56,900) have been launched in India. The phones go on sale at 12 am on March 18. Also, everyone who pre-book (between March 8-17) will get a free Samsung Gear VR. The two phones were first unveiled at the Samsung event leading up to Mobile World Congress 2016 last month. Samsung claims that the phones are "made for India" and reminded that they have been chosen as the most reliable brand by Indians according to a survey last week.
Reiterating that the Galaxy S7 phones are made from India, Samsung talked about the seven innovations that make it the ideal device for Indian customers.
The glass and metal design is made possible by the 3D thermoforming technology process.
Task edge and always-on-display makes sure you don't miss news updates by keeping shortcuts an edge-swipe away.
Samsung waterproofed and dustproofed the S7 phones by sealing it from the inside, making them match IP68 standards.
The camera focuses on low light photography with 30% bigger pixels than an iPhone 6s Plus and a wider F1.7 aperture to capture more light. The camera also supports dual pixel technology that works like the human eye for faster focus.
Camera applications and image processing for the Galaxy S7 has been developed at the Samsung Research institutes in India -- their largest outside South Korea.

44% more processing power than S6, 69% better gaming performance than the S6 and a liquid cooling system keep the phone from heating up while running heavy applications.
The S7 has a 3,000 mAh battery while the S7 Edge has a 3,600 mAh battery. It provides enough juice to watch an entire season of Game of Thrones on a single charge.
Vulkan graphics API brings gaming experience on the phone closer to a PC. Also, gaming shortcuts help block out any distractions and capture your achievements during a game.
The S7 has a hybrid dual SIM port that lets you expand the storage up to 200 GB, but loses the dual-SIM feature in that case. You can't have both dual-SIM and expandable memory at the same time because one of the slots doubles up as both.
Samsung also launched their Concierge service in India. Subscribers get The My Assistant service which is like a personal assistant that gets anything done -- from movie tickets booked, cabs called or gifts sent -- over messages. A Fast Track Service makes sure your phone is given priority over other customers' at the service centres. Phone Pickup & Drop means your phone will be picked up and dropped to your home when it needs repairs with the option of a temporary one while your phone is being fixed.
Also, a Samsung's partnership with Vodafone means Red plan subscribers will get double the data and voice they pay for.
