Realme will be the first brand to offer a phone with MediaTek’s new Dimensity chip. The latest 5G SoC is aimed at flagship and premium to mid-range and mass-market devices.
MediaTek on Wednesday announced the launch of the Dimensity 700 5G smartphone chipset in India. The company also announced that Realme would be the first smartphone brand to offer a phone with the latest chipset.
As the name implies, Dimensity 700 5G comes with 5G capabilities. Other highlights of the new process are advanced camera performance and power efficiency. Dimensity 700 5G also brings full HD+ display support along with a 90Hz refresh rate. For photography, it supports up to 64-megapixels along with AI-driven features like bokeh, colour, and beauty and real-time bokeh in portrait preview. It also has facial detection. Another highlight is the support for voice assistants from global brands.
In terms of specifications, MediaTek's new chip features LPDDR4x memory, UFS 2.2 storage type, Arm Mali-G57 MC2 GPU (950Mhz max GPU frequency), 2K @ 30FPS video playback, and H.264, H.265 / HEVC video encoding. Connectivity options are 5G, 4G CA, NavIC, GPS, Wi-Fi 5 (a/b/g/n/ac), and Bluetooth 5.1.
