Micromax launches Canvas 3D Phone with the price tag Rs. 9,999

Micromax has announced the launch of its first 3D phone, Micromax A115 Canvas 3D, which boasts of a glasses-free option to view 3D images today.

Micromax has announced the launch of its first 3D phone, Micromax A115 Canvas 3D, the fourth member of its flagship Canvas series on Tuesday.

The latest offering from Micromax offers a glasses-free option to view 3D content. This is in line with our earlier report about phone's impending launch.

Smartphone maker Micromax's has launched its first 3D phone. Micromax Canvas 3D A115, which is the fourth member of its Canvas Series.

There were a lot of speculations about the phone's impending launch, as there was no clarity on the specifications of the new the product. Micromax has answered all the doubts by launching the phone.

The most eye-catching fetaure of the device is that it has been priced at 9,999 and does not require 3D glasses to view the content.

The company press release describes the latest offering as 'NO requirement of 3D Glasses' to view its content in 3D, thereby giving the user a hassle free rich life like experience.

According to the company, the technology required to convert standard images into 3D format has been embedded into this smartphone.

The new Micromax A115 Canvas come with a 5.0-inch display with 480x800 resolution and full touch screen and runs on Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean).

This dual-sim smartphone is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor and supports 32GB memory expandable memory.

For imaging, the phone has a 5MP camera on the back, whereas a VGA unit is placed in the front.

The phone comes with a basic 5MP camera on the back and a VGA quality camera for video calling. However, unlike its competitors like the HTC EVO 3D and LG Optimus 3D, the new Canvas 3D does not click 3D images. The 3D experience is, unfortunately, restricted only to the display and viewing 3D content without glasses.

However, according to the company, the smartphone has inbuilt features to convert regular images into the 3D format.

For connectivity, the new Canvas 3D has a features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and microUSB. The 2,000mAh battery of this smartphone offers talk time of up to 4.5 hours.

The manufacturer has also included access to Micromax 3D Space where the user can access all 3D videos and games.

The new 3D smartphone will be available in the market from the first week of May, with the price tag of 9,000, according to the company's website.

Currently, the only other smartphone with a 3D screen in India is LG Optimus 3D, priced at 26,400.

Micromax's flagship Canvas series consists of Micromax A72 Canvas Viva, Micromax A110 Canvas 2 (Review | Pictures), Micromax A116 Canvas HD (Review | Pictures) and, now, Micromax A115 Canvas 3D.
