Microsoft takes on Trello and Wunderlist with Planner
The Planner app can be used in a browser or as a phone app. While the preview was launched in December, the company is rolling it out to everyone now as a part of the Office 365 suite.
Microsoft's Office 365 suite has a new member called Planner. The collaboration tools, like Trello and Wunderlist aims to make tabs on tasks at hands easier. Anyone with a Microsoft office subscription can try out the app.
Besides making plans, monitoring progress, workflow and teams, the app also lets you communicate over chat to get the job done. It can even lets multiple teams collaborate on one task. Once a task is created , it can be assigned and updated according to the progress made. You can also attach notes, documents and files to the task. The tasks can be colour coded to make keeping tab of deadlines and progress even easier.
Multiple tasks of a project can be encapsulated on a board to which member, documents and photos can be added. The members of a board can communicate over chat individually or even in groups. All the files added to a board will be available to all the members.
