MIUI 12 update is coming to these Redmi, Mi smartphones in India
Xiaomi finally announced the launch of MIUI 12 for its users in India. The new version of MIUI comes with visual changes, new features and privacy features for Xiaomi users. Xiaomi will start rolling out MIUI 12 to select smartphones from this month onwards.
Xiaomi has so far revealed only the first wave of its MIUI 12 roadmap for India. In the first MIUI 12 rollout schedule there are seven phones in total. Xiaomi said the rollout will begin this month but a specific date hasn't been revealed yet. The Xiaomi phones getting MIUI 12 first in India are Mi 10, Redmi Note 9, Redmi Note 9 Pro, Redmi Note 8, Redmi Note 8 Pro, Redmi Note 7, and Redmi Note 7 Pro. Interested users can keep a lookout for Xiaomi's social media channels to know the exact dates of the rollout.
Xiaomi unveiled MIUI 12 first in April this year. It has since started rolling out to more smartphones. MIUI 12 is based on Android, and the new version of the custom OS offers a more minimalist look. MIUI 12 comes with new animations for apps which are said to be faster and more fluid. Xiaomi has also improved dark mode on MIUI 12 with new features like wallpaper dimming and font adjustment.
MIUI 12 comes with new live wallpapers that have this zoom feature when the phone unlocks. There's a new always-on display feature along with floating windows for small app previews. The calendar app on MIUI 12 will show better designed cards for important events, and the weather app also recreates the current climate. The stock Android 10 gesture navigation system is available on MIUI 12, and notifications get a quick reply feature as well.
Xiaomi has also added privacy and security features to MIUI 12. There's quite a lot that's new on MIUI 12 and the update should roll out to more phones soon.
