One of the major reasons smart phone users prefer Android to other platforms like Apple's iOS and Blackberry is because of Adobe Flash support.

Almost everybody likes to be able to run videos and animated games on their browsers, be it on the desktop or the mobile. Hence, it was quite a surprise when Adobe had said that it had stopped developing Flash for the mobile platform. The nail seemed to be firmed up on the coffin when the fourth version of Android, Ice Cream Sandwich, also shipped without Adobe Flash in it. So much so, Flash wasn't even available on the Android Market for download.

Yesterday, Google confirmed that it would not support Flash on the latest version of its mobile operating systems unless Adobe agreed to upgrade the plugin. However, Google also seemed to be confident that Adobe shall surely upgrade Flash for Android, even though no timeline has been mentioned as yet.
