Wouldn't it be an impressive deal to pay less for an Android smartwatch and exactly have all the abilities that the expensive Apple Watch has?

That deal is knocking on your doors as Google has finally released the Marshamallow or 6.0 update to Android wear that will now allow you to make calls, listen to messages and do a whole lot of other things with your Android smartwatch.

In an official blog post, Google said that it was expanding the hands-free options in a number of ways for smartwatches. "Screening calls from your wrist is a nice convenience that comes with Android Wear. Thanks to speaker support, you can now make and take calls over Bluetooth. And you can listen to audio/video messages with apps like Glide. All you need is a watch with a speaker, which today includes the Huawei Watch and the ASUS ZenWatch 2 (49mm)," the company wrote. Currently, other Android smartwatches don't have speaker/mic ability.

Other features in the update includes sending messages with voice and operating the watch with gestures. "Scrolling up and down your card stream is as simple as flicking your wrist. Starting today you can also expand a card, bring up your apps, or return home to your watch face with a push, lift or shake. You'll be able to stay connected to what's important, while keeping your phone (or other hand) in your pocket," Google said adding that users could now reply to messages from Hangouts, Nextplus, Telegram, Viber, WeChat and WhatsApp with their voice.

Till the release of the update, Apple Watch was the only smartwatch that could answer calls on the go. The new update will see more companies putting speaker ability on their wearables but a few companies like Motorola still don't believe that people need to answer calls from extended devices like smartwatches.

A Googler, named Wayne Piekarski, wrote on his Google+ feed that OTAs have begun and should continue over the next few weeks.
