Now you can buy the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 and 3 in India

Microsoft, as promised by its Indian-born CEO Satya Nadella, has launched the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 and the Surface Pro 3 in India at a starting price of 89,990.

The Surface series can be considered as a hybrid PC but essentially is a high-end powerful tablet with a detachable keyboard and a stylus-based Surafce Pen.

Consumers can buy the new Surface Pro 4 exclusively via Amazon for the first months, Microsoft said adding that the company will start taking orders starting Thursday and delivery will begin on January 14.

The company has also organised for demo centres in its exclusive outlets in three major regions -- NCR, Mumbai and Bengaluru. "We are strictly against the policy of people buying stuff without seeing them and that is what most players are doing these days. Hence we set up these centres to let people have a look and feel of the device before they purchase it online," Vineet Durani, director of the Windows Business group at Microsoft India, said.

The Pro 4, launched in October last year, is an improvement on the Pro 3 and is thinner and lighter than its predecessor. Indian users can buy three variants which includes - a Core i5/4GB RAM/128 GB SSD at 89,990; Core i5/8GB RAM/256 SSD at 1,20,990 and the Core i7/8GB of RAM/256GB SSD at 1,44,990.

Other specifications of the Pro 4 includes a 12.3-inch PixelTouch display with a 3:2 aspect ratio and 2736x1824 pixels screen resolution. It also

comes with a full-size USB 3.0 port, a microSD card reader, a 3.5-mm headset jack, a Mini DisplayPort, a Type Cover port, and SurfaceConnect port.

Microsoft is also selling the Surface Pen and the Surface 4 Pro keyboard at prices of 5,990 and 12,490 respectively. The company also will be selling only one variant of the Surface Pro 3 at 73,990 which will come with a Core i3 processor, 4GB RAM and 128 GB SSD.

Enterprises will also get their hands on the Surface Pro 4 which the Redmond-based technology major is selling in partnership with HCL Infosystems. The enterprise editions includes - the Pro 4 with a Core M/4GB RAM/128GB SSD; Core i5/ 4GB RAM/128GB SSD; Core i5/ 8GB RAM/128GB SSD and Core i5/ 8GB RAM/256GB SSD.

"The Surface Pro 4 with Core i7/ 16GB RAM/128 GB SSD, and The Surface Pro 4 with Core i7/ 16GB RAM/512 GB SSD variants are available on special order," Durani said.
