Ola launches Play, entertainment services for customers
“Ride-sharing passengers will be able to access music, video and also tweak car settings such as air conditioning, using a console and connected services from Ola and more importantly when stuck during a traffic jam,” the company said in a statement adding that the technology was built in jointly with chip-maker Qualcomm.

Indian technology-based on demand cab services on Tuesday launched entertainment services for its customers in Delhi, Bengaluru and Mumbai via a new app called Ola Play.
"Ride-sharing passengers will be able to access music, video and also tweak car settings such as air conditioning, using a console and connected services from Ola and more importantly when stuck during a traffic jam," the company said in a statement adding that the technology was built in jointly with chip-maker Qualcomm.
It also said that Play also allows various partners like Apple Music, Sony LIV, Audio Compass and Fynd to build a high quality interactive experience for users. Mahindra and Mahindra, as part of its strategic partnership with Ola, is deeply integrating this technology in its vehicles, enabling both companies to build holistic solutions, it said. Uber, Ola's rival, has partnered with Pandora Media Inc. to let passengers stream music during car rides.
"With over 60 million minutes spent in Ola rides every day, the impact on consumer comfort, convenience and productivity can be transformative. This will further propel ride-sharing as the first choice of mobility for many more millions," Bhavish Aggarwal, Co-Founder and CEO at Ola, said.
Play was first introduced for select customers and now it is being rolled out to more than 50,000 cars.
