OnePlus will showcase its latest flagship smartphone, OnePlus 6, at an event in London on May 16. Ahead of the official launch, the company has been building hype around the phone with a series of teasers, giving away key details about OnePlus 6. The new flagship smartphone has also been subjected to various leaks, giving us a clear picture of what to expect from the phone.

The global launch event is set to take place in London at 12pm EDT. OnePlus will be livestreaming the launch event which will start at 9.30pm in India. OnePlus 6 will launch in India the next day on May 17. Here's a detailed look at everything we know about OnePlus 6.

Design
One major design change is a glass back on the OnePlus 6. Following a teaser, OnePlus confirmed a glass back panel on the OnePlus 6 which will feature five printed layers of nanotech coating. With a glass back OnePlus is expected to finally introduce wireless charging with the OnePlus 6. However, details are still very bleak and the company may not push for it after all.

One of the teasers also shows a shift in design for antenna lines on OnePlus 6. Antenna lines on OnePlus 6 will be placed on the sides as opposed to the design seen on OnePlus 5T. The alert slider's placement also appears to have changed. Some leaked renders also reveal a vertically aligned dual-camera setup on OnePlus 6 with a cubical fingerprint sensor placed below.

Display
OnePlus 6 would look quite different from existing OnePlus smartphones but very similar to its competitors as it will feature an iPhone X-like notch display design. OnePlus' notch display will be smaller than the one on iPhone X.

OnePlus 6 will feature an optimised OxygenOS to ensure users get to access and read all notifications. OnePlus will also fix the full display problem with a compatibility mode which will black out the notch are while watching videos in landscape mode. Specs wise, OnePlus 6 is expected to feature a 6.28-inch QHD+ display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top.

Camera
A dual-camera setup is highly expected on OnePlus 6. The setup is expected to be a combination of a 16-megapixel and 20-megapixel sensors. Up front, the smartphone could house a 16-megapixel camera for selfies.

OnePlus prides on its camera capabilities and the company has been sharing camera samples which show impressive results. OnePlus 6' camera has also been compared against flagships like iPhone X, Samsung Galaxy S9, and Google Pixel 2 through camera samples. One teaser also hints on super slo-mo video recording capability as seen on Galaxy S9 and Xperia XZ Premium.

Processor, RAM and Storage
OnePlus 6 will be powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 845 processor. The smartphone is expected to launch in two storage variants as seen in the past. This year, OnePlus will also offer a 256GB storage variant for OnePlus 6 which is a first for the company. It will also come with 8GB of RAM. The smartphone is also expected to come with 6GB of RAM and either 64GB or 128GB storage options.

Battery, Connectivity and OS
Although not confirmed OnePlus 6 is expected to be fuelled by a 3,450mAh battery along with the company's Dash Charge support. In terms of connectivity, OnePlus 6 will be retaining the 3.5mm audio jack and is expected to come with features like 4G VoLTE support, dual-SIM support, and USB Type-C port. On the software front, OnePlus 6 will possibly run Android 8.1 Oreo with OxygenOS on top.

Improved alert slider, new gestures
In addition to the placement change the alert slider is expected to come with new features. As per the smartphone's teaser, the alert slider on OnePlus 6 could come with camera shortcuts. OnePlus has also teased possible gestures for OnePlus 6. These gestures are expected to be similar to the ones introduced by Apple on iPhone X. Google also recently announced similar gestures for its upcoming OS, Android OS.

India launch, availability details
Following its India debut on May 17, OnePlus 6 will go on sale on May 21 and 22 exclusively via Amazon India. OnePlus has also started accepting pre-orders for OnePlus 6. The company will also host pop-up stores for the smartphone across eight cities on the same dates. Here, users will be able to experience OnePlus 6 and even purchase it. The smartphone is expected to be priced slightly higher than OnePlus 5T, which had launched at the same price as OnePlus 5.
