Starting from December 5, OnePlus will be doing away with the invite code across all its markets, including India for the model. According to a thread on its forum, the code which was initially meant to help scale up operations turned into a speed bump in the experience OnePlus had envisioned.

The move coincides with the company's second anniversary and the holiday season, and could end up being a bigger boost for sales.

The OnePlus X might also be available for purchase without an invite code.
