Oppo has launched its A37 smarphone in India at ₹11,990 and will go on sale in gold and grey colours starting July 1.
Oppo A37 sports a 5-inch HD display with 2.5D Arc edge screen. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4 technology against scratches and drops. The smartphone has a metal unibody design despite weighing just 136 grams.
On the back, it sports a 8 MP camera with LED flash, Ultra-HD shooting mode, BSI sensor and an acceptable f/2.2 aperture with support for 1080p video recording. On the front is a 5 MP camera with screen flash feature (similar to Retina Flash on iPhones). It also packs Beautify 4.0 which has 7 different levels of editing options for altering the skin tones and removing blemishes.
The Oppo A37 is powered by a competent 1.2GHz quad-core MediaTek processor, coupled with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB internal storage (expandable to 128 GB via a microSD card). The phone is 4G-compatible via the dual-SIM slots (Micro-SIM + Nano-SIM).
However, the smartphone runs an outdated Android 5.1 Lollipop with ColorOS 3.0 on top and will barely get you through the day with a 2,630 mAh battery.
