Panasonic India on Monday launched a new smartphone -- Eluga I -- for the Indian market at ₹ 9,490.

The device features a 5-inch raised curve display panel, 1.3 GHz quadcore processor, Android KitKat operating system, 1 GB RAM, 8GB internal (expandable upto 32GB), 8 MP rear and 2 MP front camera and 2,000 mAh battery, Panasonic said in a statement.

The company has introduced 'Smart Swipe' functionality, wherein, a combination of number of fingers and direction of swipe can help user perform various predefined functions, it added.
