PM Modi to hold ‘Digital Dialogue’ with tech enthusiasts

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has invited tech enthusiasts from across the country to engage with him in a dialogue on his Digital India initiative through social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn on Sunday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has invited tech enthusiasts from across the country to engage with him in a dialogue on his Digital India initiative through social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn on Sunday.

'The overwhelming response along with a lot of insights & inputs on #DigitalIndia initiative has inspired me to have a #DigitalDialogue,' Modi tweeted on Saturday.

'You, me & a #DigitalDialogue! Would love to hear your thoughts, insights & views on #DigitalIndia initiative. Come, let us talk digital,' he said in another tweet.

Modi will also answering questions posed by the tech enthusiasts.

The government launched the Digital India week on July 1 to bridge the country's digital divide and digitise government departments.

The programme aims improve digital infrastructure and expand digital literacy to rural areas. A total of ₹4.5 lakh crore was pledged for the initiative by industry players at the launch event.

Modi also unveiled a slew of digital programmes — digital lockers to store documents, e-Sign using Aadhaar, e-hospital systems, the National Scholarship Portal, a Centre of Excellence on Internet on Things (IoT), and a high-speed digital highway — that aims to make government services more efficient, easily accessible and hassle-free.
