Pokemon Go acting flaky because of OurMine hacker attack
Trouble logging into Pokemon Go due to server issues might be because of the OurMine attacks
A hacker group that goes by the name OurMine, spent several hours on Sunday targeting the Pokemon Go servers with a distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack.
This attack is used when you want to make a server unreachable and they succeeded in their goal. Considering that the game needs constant access to the servers for players to login, the game would effectively be unplayable once the player closed it.
"No one will be able to play this game till Pokemon Go contact us on our website to teach them how to protect it!" wrote the group in a public post and asked the company to contact them if it wanted the attack to stop.
Pokemon Go access was flaky throughout Sunday, with users complaining about the server outage.
The augmented reality game was officially launched in Canada on Sunda, but with the servers under siege, users who installed the game still had to keep waiting.
