Porsche and Apple discussed projects! Will Apple Car be an EV sports car?
Porsche CEO says it discussed possible projects with Apple but no decision has been made yet. Here are more details.
Porsche and Apple could be onto something! Based on a recent report, Porsche CEO Oliver Blume has said that Porsche had discussed exciting common projects with Apple but no decision has been made on that front yet. The report also mentioned that the German sports car manufacturer is also considering a possibility of entering Formula 1, but no formal decision on that front has been made yet. Apple is yet to comment on this development.
Apple has been long rumoured to work on its own electric vehicle that could break cover towards the end of this decade. While there have been several rumours of Apple joining hands with several automakers, there has been no official confirmation on the same. The only car-related product Apple offers is its Apple carPlay service. The deal with Porsche could be on developing smart in-car infotainment services.
Apple and Porsche discuss new projects
While Apple is considering projects with automakers, it has been busy updating some of its more popular mass-market products lately. The biggest news of late has been the new iPhone SE, which is still the most affordable iPhone you can buy at a starting price of Rs. 43,990. The iPhone SE carries the same basics but gets a new A15 Bionic chip from the iPhone 13, an improved battery life, and toughened glass on the exteriors.
We have got our hands on the new iPhone SE and have been left impressed by what it offers. However, it isn't the most cutting-edge iPhone you can buy at the moment. Apple also announced an update iPad Air with new M1 chip, which is same chip that powers the MacBook Air and 13-inch MacBook Pro. Apple had also announced the Mac Studio with its most powerful chip, the M1 Ultra, at the March 8 launch event. Two new shades of green were also announced for the iPhone 13 series.
On the other hand, there have been reports of Apple already developing the new iPhone 14 series. The Pro variants are expected to ditch the notch, get 48MP main cameras, and a new A16 Bionic chip.
