Clubhouse is the next TikTok with popular companies adopting the audio chat room concept. The latest to join is Reddit that is reportedly working on a Clubhouse-like voice chat feature with a moderator. It won't be surprising to see Reddit also come up with a similar feature considering how every other popular social company has joined the race.

According to a report by Mashable, development for this feature is still in the early stages, and it's being kept confidential for now. The company hasn't responded on whether it is testing this feature. Reddit is expected to offer this audio chat room feature to members of its power-ups program. Redditors who subscribe to this program can get access to additional features for subreddits. There isn't much known about the feature except that it will be moderator-run voice chats similar to Clubhouse. With no official confirmation it's not clear when the feature will be official.

Reddit has experimented with different features in the past. Last year in April, Reddit started testing the ‘Start Chatting' prompt that allowed users on selected subreddits to have group discussions with up to five members. The new feature could be similar to this but with audio chat enabled. A Clubhouse-like audio chat room feature for Reddit would also make sense for the subreddits which are community-based.

Reddit is the latest to join the audio chat room craze started by Clubhouse. Twitter is already running Spaces, while Facebook is also developing audio chat rooms. LinkedIn is also reportedly working on a Clubhouse-like feature, while Discord has already launched one.
