The Android web browser Robot has surpassed Opera to become the top mobile browser, according to new data from browser tracking site statcounter.com.
The data shows that Android's mobile web browser Robot overtook Opera -- which is used on devices such as Blackberry, Symbian, Windows Mobile and others -- in February 2012.
According to Statcounter, at the end of February Android's Robot had a 22.67 percent share of the web browser market, followed by Opera with 21.7 and iPhone's Safari with a 21.06 percent share.
The popularity of Robot could change over the coming months due to Google's recently released mobile web version of its popular Chrome Browser.
A Beta version of Chrome for mobile is available to download on the Android market at: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.android.chrome (requires Android 4.0 and up)
