Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra to debut with these five big upgrades
Like the Galaxy S20 series, Samsung is launching an ‘Ultra' variant for the Galaxy Note 20 as well. Galaxy Note 20 Ultra will be the high-end model in the series and it's expected to come with some major upgrades.
Samsung's Note series has always featured only one model for the longest time. It, however, launched the Galaxy Note 10+ along with the Note 10 last year. This year too, there will be two phones in the series - Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra. Samsung hasn't confirmed but there are way too many credible leaks suggesting the same. The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra will be one of the highlights for tonight's Unpacked event. So, here are five upgrades expected from the Note 20 Ultra.
The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is said to feature a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED display (3200 x 1440 resolution) with an Infinity-O cutout. It will look much like the Note 10 in terms of design. The major upgrade here will be the 120Hz refresh rate on the Note 20 Ultra. Samsung has so far integrated 120Hz refresh rate only on its Galaxy S20 phones.
Remember the Galaxy S20 Ultra's 108-megapixel camera with 100x ‘Space Zoom'? That's coming on the Note 20 Ultra too but the zoom range is cut by 50%. On the Note 20 Ultra, leaks suggest up to 50x Space Zoom and not 100x like its cousin. In total, there will be three rear cameras on the Note 20 Ultra with a single selfie camera.
On the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, we could see Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 865+ processor. There have been reports though suggesting that Samsung will use the Snapdragon 865 on the Note 20 Ultra. The Note 20 Ultra and Note 20 both will come with support for 5G. A 4,500mAh battery is also expected on the Note 20 Ultra.
New S Pen
The S Pen is also set to receive an upgrade with new gesture controls. This could be on both the Note 20 Ultra and Note 20 as well. The new S Pen is expected to come with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint integrations. It could be used as a pointer for presentations. Users can switch between a laser or spotlight pointer.
This is part of the camera upgrade on the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. Just like the Galaxy S20 phones, the Note 20 Ultra is also expected to come with support for 8K video recording. Since it hogs a lot of storage, 8K video recording is limited to 5 minutes on the S20 phones. Samsung may implement the same on the Note 20 Ultra as well.
Bonus: New colour!
If this excites you then the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra will come in a new ‘Mystic Bronze' colour. It's the same one that launched on the Galaxy Z Flip 5G. In fact all five Samsung devices launching will sport the new bronze colour.
