Samsung ushered an era of ultra-portable SSDs with the launch of the SSD T1 last year. Now the company has announced a bigger and a better successor with the launch of the new SSD T3 in India.

The SSD T3 will be available in 250GB, 500GB, 1TB and 2TB variants priced at 10,999, 18,999, 37,999 and 74,999 respectively and comes with a 3-year warranty. It will be available in India starting March 21 across retail as well as online stores which include Flipkart, Amazon and Snapdeal.

The T3 is capable of read/write speeds of up to 450 MB/s and comes with Samsung's TurboWrite technology. In addition, it allows full AES 256-bit hardware encryption which makes it a good choice for safe and secure file transfer. The company also claims it can survive even after being dropped from 6 feet (2 meters).

In terms of connectivity, the T3 gets support for USB 3.1 Type C and USB 2.0. It will be compatible to work with laptops, desktops, TVs and Android devices. The SSD T3 also features a Thermal Guard, which keeps a check on workload and substantially reduces the SSD T3 from getting overheated.

The tiny SSD T3 fits easily in the palm or your pocket and weighs less than 51 grams making it super light and portable. With the launch of the SSD T3 which was initially unveiled at CES 2016, Samsung will gradually phase out earlier T1 series in a few week's time.
