Samsung to unveil the Galaxy S7 on February 21

Samsung is all set to host its unpacked event a day ahead of official start to Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on February 21, where it is expected to unveil its next-gen flagship the Galaxy S7.

Samsung has finally started sending invites for its 'Galaxy Unpacked 2016' event for February 21 in Barcelona (a day ahead of the official start to Mobile World Congress 2016), where it is expected to announce the much anticipated Galaxy S7. The company has also published 'The Next Galaxy' teaser video, flaunting a cube with glowing edges which eventually forms number 7', clearly suggesting the launch of the seventh series in the Galaxy line-up. Notably, the video also shows-off the company's Samsung VR headset suggesting there might be something else in store besides the Galaxy S7.

Based on earlier reports, Samsung is expected to announce upto four Galaxy S7 variants which include the Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Plus, Galaxy S7 Edge, and Galaxy S7 Edge+. Notable changes in the upcoming Galaxy S7 could be the addition of a pressure sensitive screen, a microSD slot which was missing in the Galaxy S6, fast charging technology along with USB Type C connectivity.

In terms of specifications, the smartphones are tipped to get 5.1-inch and bigger QHD displays, 12-megapixel rear cameras and a 5-megapixel front-facing cameras, along with 64GB inbuilt storage. Powering the smartphone would be a Snapdragon 820 processor bundled with either 3GB or 4GB of RAM, while in some regions it is expected to pack its in-house Exynos 8990 chipsets.
