SBI YONO login alert! Bank will allow Online banking access only if you do this

The State Bank of India has sent a warning to all its SBI YONO account holders about what they must not do while trying to login for online banking purposes.

SBI YONO has just implemented a tough new rule that customers must follow. There has been a huge spike in netbanking transactions over the last year, but along with this have come many problems, especially the ones having to do with security and preventing loss of money to fraudsters. Keeping this one thing in mind, the State Bank of India (SBI) has cracked the whip and will no longer allow certain things. This move by SBI will actually freeze out customers from their accounts if they do not follow the new rules.

SBI account holders who are carrying out their financial transactions as well as keeping up to date with all their personal details through SBI YONO app will now have to ensure one thing before the bank will allow them to login. They will be able to login only if they are using the mobile phone number that is registered with the bank. SBI YONO will not allow account holders to make any transaction if they try to login with a different number.

SBI took to Twitter to send this message. It first explained why it was taking this tough step by tweeting, "Bank Securely with YONO SBI! YONO SBI is leveling up its security features." Then it explained the new rule that customers will have to follow. It said, "The new upgrade will allow access to YONO SBI only from the phone which has the mobile number registered with the bank."

The problem that SBI YONO has to deal with is that fraudsters often get username, password and other personal bank account details of customers by duping them and then they use the same to log in from their own mobiles. However, now that SBI YONO has enforced this rule about allowing access to the account only if users log in from their registered mobile phone, then chances of money loss are reduced enormously. However, to some it will come as an inconvenience, but the all-around benefits outweigh that consideration.

So, be warned, next time you try to access your SBI YONO account, make sure you use the mobile phone number that is registered with the bank without fail.
