Sify unveils cheaper rates for Net phone calls to Gulf

ITES company Sify on Friday announced cheaper net telephone rates for the Gulf countries with its MPLS technology assuring voice clarity.

The company said in a release that the telephony service, applicable with immediate effect, would cost callers ₹7 per minute from anywhere in India to Jeddah and Riyadh.

Calls to other regions within the Gulf will vary between ₹9 and ₹13 as against BSNL's prevailing flat rate of ₹19.40 per minute.

Sify's Access Media division president Shrikant Joshi said Internet telephony was increasingly becoming the preferred option for people who wanted to make more frequent international calls.
